The Truth Contract is a civic-intelligence platform and public-interest movement focused on restoring clarity, agency, trust and long-term thinking in Britain.
We believe the future should not be designed behind closed doors, nor reduced to short-term political cycles. It should be shaped consciously, transparently, and with the participation of the people who will live in it.
Britain is facing a series of mounting structural challenges – demographic, economic, institutional and cultural – that cannot be solved through managerial politics alone. For too long, public debate has been fragmented, reactive, and trapped within electoral time horizons that discourage serious long-term design.
The Truth Contract exists to help change that.
We are building a new kind of civic platform – one that turns widespread public participation into national design.
At the centre of this work is Vision 2061: a generational framework for national renewal built around first principles rather than party ideology. Its purpose is not to produce another political manifesto, but to create the conditions for Britain to flourish again over the next generation and beyond.
Vision 2061
It is organised around three foundational domains:
Healthy People and Families
Strong family formation, prevention-first health, demographic sustainability, environmental integrity, and the long-term wellbeing of future generations.
A Thriving Economy
Productive growth, entrepreneurship, energy resilience, technological innovation, sound money, and an economy designed to reward contribution, competence and creation.
Freedom, Transparent & Honest Governance
Civil liberties protected in law, accountable institutions, democratic legitimacy, institutional integrity, and transparent systems worthy of public trust.
Each principle is supported by practical policy thinking and conservative economic modelling which suggests that – if implemented coherently as a system rather than in isolation – the framework could unlock between £845 billion and £1.2 trillion in national benefit over five years through productivity gains, improved health outcomes, reduced system costs, and increased economic participation.
But this is about more than economics.
At its core, The Truth Contract is an attempt to restore serious, open and intelligent civic participation at a time when many people feel politically homeless, distrustful of institutions, or disconnected from the future being built around them.
We reject both passive decline and permanent outrage.
We believe difficult questions should be examined openly. We believe institutions should be accountable. We believe citizens deserve transparency, competence and honesty from those exercising power. And we believe national renewal becomes possible when people are trusted enough to participate meaningfully in shaping what comes next.
This is not a finished ideology. It is a living framework designed to evolve through public participation, expert scrutiny, open debate and real-world testing.
Our Principles
Vision 2061 is built around a series of first principles intended to support long-term national flourishing, including:
-> healthy people and strong families
-> productive and resilient economic systems
-> freedom and accountable governance
-> transparent institutions
-> energy and resource security
-> civic participation and democratic legitimacy
-> sound public finances
-> technological progress aligned with human wellbeing
The Truth Contract platform enables citizens to explore ideas, challenge assumptions, debate principles, vote on proposals, and contribute directly to the long-term design of Britain’s future.
Alongside this, the Great British Renewal Project (GBRP) is being developed to bring together the operators, experts, builders and execution teams capable of turning vision into measurable delivery.
Founded by entrepreneur and author David CM Carter, The Truth Contract exists because future generations deserve better than drift, fragmentation and short-term thinking.
By 2061, today’s children will inherit the consequences of the decisions being made now.
This work begins from a simple belief:
A nation’s future is not determined by policy alone, but by the principles on which it is built.
Britain’s renewal will not come through slogans, tribalism or performative politics. It will come through courage, competence, long-term thinking, and people willing to engage seriously with the future of their country.
If that resonates with you, we invite you to take part.
-> Read the principles.
-> Challenge them.
-> Refine them.
-> Contribute your perspective.
-> Help shape what comes next.
The future will belong to those willing to build it consciously.
